Lot of things hapening lately…

On December 30, 2011, in iostrings, Sekai 16 Mission Log, by Tamashii

It’s been a long time since I posted something. This is because I simply did not have the time to sit down and work on the Sekai16 mission logs, while the music stuff that I’m working on is not ready for the public yet. I am sorry for this and I hope I’ll be able to continue it in the next year.

Speaking of this…

I hope you had a nice holiday and wish you a happy new year! :)

Meet the two sides of the moon!

On November 4, 2011, in iostrings, by Tamashii

Do you like teaser? Sneak-previews? Work-in-progress-songs? Well, here are some from my upcoming IO:Strings album! The songs are not complete yet, which means they haven’t been mastered and some parts, instruments and vocals may be missing.

The album will have two “sides” just like the moon has two. The Light side will feature calm, relaxing downtempo songs:

7 Billion Tears

Caves Of Time

There is also a dark (or at least darker) side of the moon where the not-so-calm songs reside. :) Like these two:

The Only

Phobos

And of course the song Emerald Planet will find it’s place on the album after remastering. Here is the old version:

CDR Gray Cameron

On October 24, 2011, in Sekai 16 Mission Log, by Tamashii

Born August 21, 1987 in Los Angeles, Nevada. At the age of 18 he joined the US AirForce and between 2005-2010 he served in Afghanistan and Iraq as fighter pilot, where he flew 37 combat missions on various aircrafts. Returning from the Middle-East, he went to the University of South California, where he aquired the Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and Master of Science degree in aerospace engineering. Because of his excellent aviation skills and combat history, NASA signed him up to the astronaut training program in 2015.

Between 2017-2020 he was part of the crew on several space-missions while building the ISS2 orbiting station (It’s predecessor – the ISS – has been retrieved from service in 2019. The controlled deorbit of the old station made a spectacular firework on the evening sky over the Atlantic region.), receiving the commander rank on the last two missions.

In 2020 he led the XRock mission that saved the Earth from the incoming asteroid Argorith17. The dangerous undertaking featured landing on the object and installing multiple stationary rocket engines on the surface so it’s trajectory could be modified.

As the most experienced active astronaut, in 2022 he was chosen to command the mission to Io. After the one year long prepairing training he boarded the Sekai 16 rocket on the 13th October 2023 to start the long journey to Jupiter’s moon.

The journey

On October 19, 2011, in Sekai 16 Mission Log, by Tamashii

antimatter-rocket-big Day 5 – The past 4 days since the launch were trouble-free, everything went on schedule. In the first 3 hours the 4 of the 7 rocket stages were jettisoned as they burned their fuel reserves while accelerating the spaceship towards it’s destination. The voyage will be a long one though: even with the new 4th generation antimatter engines, the travel will last 154 days to Io. This will be the longest human spaceflight since the landing mission on Mars.

The aim of the mission is to collect first-hand information that helps in the planning of future colonization of the moon. Scientists visioning human colonies on the surface, heated and powered by geothermal energy. Oxygen will be extracted from the moon’s thick sulphur-dioxide athmosphere, while water could be avible from the neighbouring moon Europa.

The crew has a regular schedule for today: after breakfast they begin housekeeping chores, such as charging batteries, dumping waste water and checking oxygen reserves.

In the next posts, the crew members will be introduced. Stay with us!

Sekai 16 launched successfully

On October 13, 2011, in Sekai 16 Mission Log, by Tamashii

Sekai 16 launch 7:17 a.m. EDT- On schedule to within less than a second, Sekai 16 blasts off from Launch Pad 68A at Cape Kennedy, Florida to start what is looked upon as the greatest mission since the landing on the Moon: a journey to Io - the innermost of the four Galilean moons of the planet Jupiter. The space rocket Sekai 16 carries the landing unit Rider 01 which is manned by Commander Gray Cameron and Lieutenant Ayame Akegata, acompanied by an android called Midori.

May their venture be safe and successfull!
